S3E01 In Beginning

a painter with words for bristles

In this first episode of Season 3, Joe reads the titular (yes, you can laugh at that word) poem from his soon-to-be-released book of poems responding to the book of Genesis.

“The beginning was about tidiness / and arrangement, forming coherence / from chaos, a sculptor and a universe / of loam, a painter with words for bristles….”

By Joe Johnson

Joe lives in Portland. He writes. Some of it is good. He earned his MFA in Creative Writing through the Rainier Writing Workshop (at Pacific Lutheran University).
